Ask Questions 1

Example 1: first of all, let's write a simple declarative sentence: You love her.

You love her.
àitā.
她。
youloveher

How then would we ask, in Chinese, "Do you love her?" We form an interrogative sentence adding the particle (ma) at the end of a declarative sentence, so we just add (ma) at the end of 你爱她 (nǐ ài tā) and replace 。(that is the Chinese full stop) with a big question mark!

Do you love her?
àima?
youloveher

Example 2: One more sentence: He is David.

He is David.
shìDàwèi.
大卫。
heisDavid

How would we say "Is he David?"

Is he David?
shìDàwèima?
大卫
heisDavid
